Can a Council member receive supports?

Council members are not disqualified from applying for supports from Individual and Family Supports.

Council members can also receive supports to help them participate in Council activities. These might include such things as reimbursement for sitter service or for mileage to Council meetings. This part of our law was meant to make it possible for us to have as diverse a membership as possible. Income should not be a barrier to being a Council member.
